Description
The pressure is measured through the analysis of the applied force by a fluid, which can be gas or liquid, on a surface – the measurement is in units of force per unit of the surface area. Pressure gauges are the instruments used to measure and display pressure in an integral unit.
Most gauges measure pressure relative to atmospheric pressure, form which is referred to as “gauge pressure.” For the most accurate reading, a vacuum gage is often used which provides readings in the absolute scale.
